In its research Fashion & Aesthetics explores the connection between fashion, aesthetics, art and society: The variety of fashions in clothing, hairstyle, cosmetics and shaping of the human body are put in their cultural and historic contexts and examined based on social, artistic changes and disruptions including their representation in the media. Fundamental to this research are approaches based on art and cultural studies that include an interdisciplinary variety of theories and methods.
